AWARDS: Top 10 scores used to qualify and determine league standings. It is
your choice of which scores you turn in. There is no limit on the
number on scores turned in. For new shooters, if you don’t have an
NRA classification, one will be assigned based on the average of
your first five .22 scores. Each class requires 3 qualifying shooters
for a 1st place award, 5 qualifying shooters for a 2nd place award,
and 8 qualifying shooters for a 3rd place award. Match winner
cannot be a class winner.

Competition Rules Non-sanctioned events

· Only .177 calibers are allowed. Lead pellets consistent with production availability only.

· Power level is restricted to 1100 feet per second maximum (this is to protect the backstops).

· Any weight rifle is allowed. Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits.

· One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed.

· Scopes may utilize illumination.

· Tethered tanks are allowed.

· The target will be the USBR 50 yard rimfire target.
· We will shoot 3 targets for a competition.
· You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots.
· 1 shot per bull
· Two hits on a single bull will score a zero
· Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X.
· Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles (less than 800fps) and 25 yards for rifle with a velocity of 800fps – 1100fps.
· Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved ..177 caliber gauge/plug.
· With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. A competitor should arrive 30 minutes prior to their relay start time.
· Relays will begin every 90 minutes.
· Match winners (bragging rights) will be based on high aggregate score, highest single target score.
· Match fees are $10 per person for ARPC members and $15 for members’ guest. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in.

Introduction to Air Rifle Benchrest at ARPC

Requirements for Participation

● The primary equipment required is an air rifle chambered in .177 caliber, suitable for competition. Both spring-type and modern PCP models are permitted. For PCP rifles, they must be capable of firing at least 25 consecutive rounds without refilling. To preserve the integrity of our backstop, rifles are limited to a maximum velocity of 1100 feet per second as specified by the manufacturer.

● Ammunition is necessary; competitors will fire a minimum of 75 rounds during the competitive portion, with practice shots available without restriction. Domed pellets are recommended, as wadcutter types may become unstable beyond a distance of 10 meters.

● A mounted scope is strongly advised, though not mandatory. Achieving a clear sight picture of the bullseye is challenging without optical assistance. A minimum magnification of 20x is suggested, although some competitors successfully utilize scopes with 12x power.

● Safety glasses are compulsory and must be worn at all times during participation.

● Hearing protection is highly recommended since certain air rifles can produce significant noise.

● Individuals aged 18 or older may participate independently. Minors are welcome to join but must have parental supervision. We encourage youth involvement in the sport.

● A benchrest or sandbag is required for stability during shooting. Limited numbers are available for participant use. Bipods are permitted in competition; however, benchrests must allow the rifle to rest freely and not clamp it.

● Targets for the competition will be provided by the organizers.

● Air refills for PCP rifles are available onsite, eliminating the need for participants to bring personal hand pumps.

The objective of these guidelines is to foster growth and inclusiveness within the sport, ensuring new and prospective participants feel welcomed and supported. First-time attendees will be partnered with an experienced member for mentorship and guidance. Youth participation is highly encouraged, families are welcome to involve their children in this engaging activity.

Fun Shoots

These shoots are held on the Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club’s 25-meter range and will be contested at 25 meters. AR&PC now has movable, but substantial, rifle shooting benches for right-handed and left-handed shooters.

We will use USBR 50-yard rimfire BR targets. We allow 5 minutes final set-up time and 25 minutes to shoot unlimited sighting shots on the three sighting bulls and one shot on each of the 25 “record” bulls. We plan to start shooting a relay every 40 minutes or so. Scoring will be off the line.

This is a fun match; entry fees will be $10.00 per shooter for one or two relays for AR&PC members, $15.00 for the first one or two relays for non-members. Re-entries will be allowed after everyone that comes gets a chance to shoot once. All re-entry targets after the first two will be $5.00.

There will be no awards. More rules or changes to the rules will be made up by the match directors when they feel it necessary. The match director is Doug Maxwell.

Air Rifle Benchrest at ARPC

Competition Rules Non-sanctioned events

· Only .177 calibers are allowed. Lead pellets consistent with production availability only.

· Power level is restricted to 1100 feet per second maximum (this is to protect the backstops).

· Any weight rifle is allowed. Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits.

· One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed.

· Scopes may utilize illumination.

· Tethered tanks are allowed.

· The target will be the USBR 50 yard rimfire target.
· We will shoot 3 targets for a competition.
· You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots.
· 1 shot per bull
· Two hits on a single bull will score a zero
· Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X.
· Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles (less than 800fps) and 25 yards for rifle with a velocity of 800fps – 1100fps.
· Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved ..177 caliber gauge/plug.
· With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. A competitor should arrive 30 minutes prior to their relay start time.
· Relays will begin every 90 minutes.
· Match winners (bragging rights) will be based on high aggregate score, highest single target score.
· Match fees are $10 per person for ARPC members and $15 for members’ guest. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in.

Requirements for Participation

● Safety glasses are compulsory and must be worn at all times during participation.

● Hearing protection is highly recommended since certain air rifles can produce significant noise.

● Individuals aged 18 or older may participate independently. Minors are welcome to join but must have parental supervision. We encourage youth involvement in the sport.

● Targets for the competition will be provided by the organizers.

● Air refills for PCP rifles are available onsite, eliminating the need for participants to bring personal hand pumps.

Competition Rules Non-sanctioned events

· Only .177 calibers are allowed. Lead pellets consistent with production availability only.

· Power level is restricted to 1100 feet per second maximum (this is to protect the backstops).

· Any weight rifle is allowed. Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits.

· One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed.

· Scopes may utilize illumination.

· Tethered tanks are allowed.

· The target will be the USBR 50 yard rimfire target.
· We will shoot 3 targets for a competition.
· You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots.
· 1 shot per bull
· Two hits on a single bull will score a zero
· Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X.
· Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles (less than 800fps) and 25 yards for rifle with a velocity of 800fps – 1100fps.
· Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved ..177 caliber gauge/plug.
· With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. A competitor should arrive 30 minutes prior to their relay start time.
· Relays will begin every 90 minutes.
· Match winners (bragging rights) will be based on high aggregate score, highest single target score.
· Match fees are $10 per person for ARPC members and $15 for members’ guest. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in.

Air Rifle Benchrest at ARPC

Competition Rules Non-sanctioned events

· Only .177 calibers are allowed. Lead pellets consistent with production availability only.

· Power level is restricted to 1100 feet per second maximum (this is to protect the backstops).

· Any weight rifle is allowed. Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits.

· One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed.

· Scopes may utilize illumination.

· Tethered tanks are allowed.

· The target will be the USBR 50 yard rimfire target.
· We will shoot 3 targets for a competition.
· You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots.
· 1 shot per bull
· Two hits on a single bull will score a zero
· Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X.
· Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles (less than 800fps) and 25 yards for rifle with a velocity of 800fps – 1100fps.
· Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved ..177 caliber gauge/plug.
· With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. A competitor should arrive 30 minutes prior to their relay start time.
· Relays will begin every 90 minutes.
· Match winners (bragging rights) will be based on high aggregate score, highest single target score.
· Match fees are $10 per person for ARPC members and $15 for members’ guest. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in.

● Hearing protection is highly recommended since certain air rifles can produce significant noise.

● Targets for the competition will be provided by the organizers.

● Air refills for PCP rifles are available onsite, eliminating the need for participants to bring personal hand pumps.

Air Rifle Benchrest at ARPC

Competition Rules Non-sanctioned events

· Only .177 calibers are allowed. Lead pellets consistent with production availability only.

· Power level is restricted to 1100 feet per second maximum (this is to protect the backstops).

· Any weight rifle is allowed. Provided it meets the .177 caliber and power limits.

· One and two piece front or rear adjustable rests and bi-pods are allowed.

· Scopes may utilize illumination.

· Tethered tanks are allowed.

· The target will be the USBR 50 yard rimfire target.
· We will shoot 3 targets for a competition.
· You will have 20 minutes per target for unlimited sighters and 25 record shots.
· 1 shot per bull
· Two hits on a single bull will score a zero
· Pellets that touch the bullseye are scored as a 10 and pellets that “obliterate” the bullseye are scored as a “X”. A single target perfect score would be 250-25X.
· Target distance will be 20 yards for low velocity rifles (less than 800fps) and 25 yards for rifle with a velocity of 800fps – 1100fps.
· Scoring will be done by experienced scorers and no shooter shall score their own targets. Scoring is to be done by using an approved ..177 caliber gauge/plug.
· With the limited number of benches available we will run several relays (dependent of registered participants) a competitor will be given a “relay number” that they will shoot in. A competitor should arrive 30 minutes prior to their relay start time.
· Relays will begin every 90 minutes.
· Match winners (bragging rights) will be based on high aggregate score, highest single target score.
· Match fees are $10 per person for ARPC members and $15 for members’ guest. You must register with the match director to participate; you will be notified by email what relay you will be shooting in.

Requirements for Participation

● Safety glasses are compulsory and must be worn at all times during participation.

● Hearing protection is highly recommended since certain air rifles can produce significant noise.

● Individuals aged 18 or older may participate independently. Minors are welcome to join but must have parental supervision. We encourage youth involvement in the sport.

● Targets for the competition will be provided by the organizers.

● Air refills for PCP rifles are available onsite, eliminating the need for participants to bring personal hand pumps.
