IDPA is a shooting sport based on defensive pistol techniques, using equipment, including full-charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios.  Shooters competing in defensive pistol events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are deemed suitable for self-defense use and concealment garment that can conceal the handgun from the view of bystanders.

Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club offers matches twice each month - on the second Tuesday at 6:00 PM and fourth Sunday at 9:00 AM.  See the CALENDAR for match dates and times.

Arvada Rifle & Pistol Club also offers monthly Pistol Caliber Carbine matches - on the first Sunday at 12:00 PM.  Any PCC style firearm allowed at the range may be used in the PCC matches.  See the CALENDAR for match dates and times.

Matches are governed by rules provided by the International Defensive Pistol Association.  Click below to download a copy of the IDPA rules.
